About Us

IndieBooks is an independent publisher founded in 2010 and committed to producing books that are a pleasure to own and to give. As an artisan publisher, we try and find the best ingredients, from the finest writers and illustrators and take the same care with editing, design and printing. We want our readers and authors to have the reassurance that every book we publish is produced to the highest standards.

Ask IndieBooks...

What do YOU publish?

A bit of everything - our backlist is fairly varied and we have turned our hands to both fiction and non-fiction, children’s and adult.

We have good experience in producing books with charities, to raise funds and promote good causes. We have worked in collaboration with Teach First, the RAF Museum, The Woodland Trust, and the smaller but equally amazing From Syria With Love.

We are also lucky that we attract particularly interesting authors, and there is nearly always a story behind the story itself. We have titles upcoming from the founder of MORI, Sir Robert Worcester and from John Williams, former Downing Street Press Secretary and political editor of the Daily Mirror. We also have authors who value their anonymity - as with the eponymous Ballad of Curly Oswald, a charming and unique novel that literally arrived in a brown envelope.

CAN I SUBMIT MY WORK?

We are open to submissions, particularly for non-fiction with a social or political dimension and fiction which pushes the limits of the crime, action and espionage genres in our new imprint Asp. You can email us directly using contact@indiebooks.co.uk. Please attach a representative section of your manuscript, a short biography and your book proposal. Being a small independent publisher, we have a lot of flexibility in what we produce and how, so can take on projects that might not find their fit elsewhere! Do get in touch.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY ABOUT BEING INDEPENDENT?

IndieBooks is an ‘artisan’ publisher. From design to editorial to marketing, there is no part of the process which is replicated project to project. It means we can innovate and take risks in what we publish, including bringing stories to readers that might otherwise never be published.
